Fencing is an Olympic sport, and one of the five that is competed in the modern pentathlon. Fencing is not a conventional sport. It requires time, patience, and practice. It is a lot of fun, whether you are fencing socially or competitively. There are three weapons in fencing: Foil/Epee/Sabre, each has their own target area and rules.
Fencing@MQ is a great club to become involved in fencing. The club is predominately Foil and Epee based, and we have a large range of fencers, from national champions through to complete novices. The club also caters for all ages, including: Community members, Uni students, and school students.
To join the club you must have some prior experience at fencing (either previous club fencing or beginners course). For those who are complete beginners you need to complete a beginners course before joining the club. The club offers a five-week learn to fence course that covers all the basics to allow you to join the club proper. For those who have fenced before, come along on Friday nights and join in the fun.
All club equipment is provided by and maintained by JG Fencing
